CIIN holds fitness walk

The Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) has said its 2013 Fitness Walk will takes place on Saturday May 11, in Lagos.

A statement by Its Head, Corporate Affairs Joseph Obah, said the exercise is also expected to take place at the institute's branches nationwide.

He noted that the walk has become an annual event with vast opportunities for insurance awareness hence it is also tagged the Insurance Industry road show.

He said this year's edition will commence at the National Stadium, Surulere, to terminate at the Niger insurance premises along Ikorodu Road, adding that not less than 2000 insurance practitioners are expected to participate in the walk wearing the colours of the Institute.

Obah noted that the participants are also expected to display the banners of their respective companies while also distributing handbills containing information on their companies and their offerings.

Director General CIIN, Adegboyega Adepegba, said it is an event no insurance company will like to miss, noting that it remains a veritable platform for reaching out to members of the insuring public in a most unique way.

Adepegba said that the walk provides ample opportunities for physical fitness, especially for executives who spend lot of time with business schedules.

The Institute's President, Dr. Wole Adetimehin, called on insurance executives to participate in the walk, stating that it is always a worthwhile experience.

He said the walk cannot be ignored for whatever excuses except for unavoidable reasons, adding that attractive prizes await exceptional participants at the destination while the carnival like party offers immense attraction as usual.
