Miss Insurance Dance: Sovereign Trust Insurance donates car

Sovereign Trust Insurance Plc has donated a brand new car for Miss Insurance dance 2014 contest billed for Friday March 14, 2014 at Ten Degrees Events Centre, Billings Way, Ikeja Lagos.

A statement by Head Corporate Affairs Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) Joseph Obah, said

Sefiyat Sadik, Miss Insurance 2013/2014 is spending the last days of a rewarding reign as she prepares to hand over to a new Queen in a few days time. Miss Sadik has justified the crown by excelling in her roles during the one-year reign which terminates on Friday March 14.

Her pet project; Youth Empowerment Against HIV/AIDS was meticulously executed during her interfaces with youths drawn from secondary schools in Lagos and Abuja.

According to Miss Sadik, her visits to the selected schools gave her the opportunity to deliver inspiring talks and share her thoughts with the students.  

The Grand Finale of the pet project which was held on the 20th of February, 2014 was a huge success. It featured awards to winners of the Students’ Essay Competition and a lecture by a medical practitioner. The event also gave the Queen an opportunity to appreciate the pet project.  

The Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) is the body of Insurance Professionals in Nigeria, charged with the duties of determining the standard of skills and knowledge required for ethical and professional practice of Insurance business in the country. Aside from this responsibility, the Institute, which has been in existence for over 50 years, owes its teeming members the duty of providing avenues for social intercourse, with events such as the annual Miss Insurance Pageant, the Annual Picnic and the Fitness Walk to mention but a few of such events.  

The Miss Insurance Dance started in the early days of the Institute as one of the social activities which the founding fathers considered to be worthwhile for social engineering and for relaxation outside the busy underwriting business schedules.  

The 2014 Miss Insurance Dance has a lot in stock for members of the CIIN to justify its status as a major event in the CIIN calendar.

A major attraction is the change in the format of the event to a Dinner setting which conforms with the current trend in events planning.

The Institute is maintaining the tradition of the star prize of a brand new car. This has been donated by Sovereign Trust Insurance Plc. No fewer than ten contestants are coming from the Insurance Industry nationwide to participate in the competition for the crown.

A Live Band and DJ will be on hand to liven-up the event for the teeming Dance enthusiasts.   CIIN Director General, Kola Ahmed, in a chat had said that preparations are in top gear to make the Dance a memorable one for all.

Ahmed also stated that Ten Degrees Event Centre, Ikeja was chosen as the venue of the all-night show because of its central location, Security and spacious car parks.
