Goldlink Insurance sponsors G31000 first training in Nigeria

Goldlink Insurance Plc has scored another first with the sponsorship of Certification Training and Examination in ISO 31000 Risk Management by the Global Institute of Risk Management Standard (G31000) which held in Lagos between Wednesday, May 13th and Friday 15th, 2015 at the Westown HotelOpebi Link Road, making it the first in Nigeria and the whole of Sub-Sahara Africa excluding South Africa. 

The President of Global Institute of Risk Management Standard headquartered in France, which is the global platform for ISO 31000, Alex Dali, was at the event to oversee the 3-day master class that had participants from Goldlink Insurance, Leadway Assurance Company, Renaissance Capital, First Bank of Nigeria, Sovereign Trust Insurance Plc, International Energy Insurance Plc and Calabar Microfinance Bank Limited in attendance.

According to the report released by the Corporate Affairs Unit of the underwriting company, the Chief Risk Officer Goldlink Insurance Plc,  Olawole Awosina, a certified ISO 31000 Risk ManagementProfessional and Lead Trainer initiated the move of the training programme to Nigeria. It was disclosed that the ISO 31000 training has been conducted in over 21 countries in the world since its inception; and this is the first time it would be conducted in the whole of Sub-Sahara Africa (South Africa excluded). 

The three-day professional training programme was facilitated by Alex Dali, the President of G31000, Joseph Iyofor, a Lead Risk Consultant at Greenland Specialist Consulting Services and OlawaleAwosina, Chief Risk Officer of Goldlink Insurance Plc.

 Chief Executive Officer Goldlink  Gbolahan Olutayostated that the company put its weight behind the Risk Management Standard training because of its understanding of the need for proper risk assessment and management in its daily operational activities as a risk-taker and its relevance in every facet of business world.

To reaffirm its commitment to proper risk underwriting, Olutayo revealed that the company sponsored five employees to the training so as to circulate the knowledge among the rest of its workforce.

It is noteworthy to recall that Goldlink Insurance won Conrad Clark’s 2013 Risk Management Award in the first runner-up category in November, 2014.
