PenCom, Pension operators to brainstorm on industry's growth

The National Pension Commission (PenCom) and the members of the Pension Fund Operators Association of Nigeria (PenOp) would today in Abuja gather to brainstorm on how to move the industry forward.

Inspen learnt that the consultative forum will provide an avenue for the regulator to update the operators of recent initiatives being work out to reposition the industry. The event will also enable the parties appraise the positions of the initiatives like open window, electronic remittance, integration of informal sector, minimum pension guarantee amongst others.

The forum, it also gathered will enable the parties to deliberate on how to key into policies of the income government.

It is believed that the outcome of the meeting will give life to initiatives such as electronic remittance which ought to have commenced by January this year, but could not because of challenges.
