Insurers have
been told to leverage the introduction of insurance subject in secondary schools
to enhance awareness. They were warned never to expect teachers and school
authorities to execute the exercise on their behalf.
A Representative
of Lagos State Ministry of Education Farinloye Olumide, told Inspen that insurers should not wait for
teachers and the ministry of education to engage in insurance awareness
creation, adding that the government has helped the insurance practitioners by making
their profession a subject to be taught at the early stage of the citizenry.
He noted that the initiative to
educate the pupils on how insurance can improve their lives, will help the
operators grow their businesses and the public mitigate risks.
