Arnold Schwarzenegger is following in the footsteps of his former Hollywood rival Sylvester Stallone by signing up to front a new U.K. advertising campaign.
The actor-turned-politician has been named as the new face of U.K. price-comparison website GoCompare.com and will appear in the company’s advertisements.
The news comes just days after fellow movie action man Stallone was unveiled as the star of a new advertising campaign for British bread company Warburtons, while other Hollywood actors with U.K. deals include Kevin Bacon, who fronts commercials for British cell phone network EE, and Bruce Willis, who has promoted Sky Broadband.
A source tells Britain’s The Sun newspaper, “Arnie has worldwide appeal. He’s not going to come cheap but it will pay off in the long run. Kevin Bacon started the ball rolling by starring in the EE adverts. Now marketing bods (workers) are all trying to follow suit.”
