'CPP fraud insurance cost me £30 a month - for eight years'

A woman has told how she paid £30 a month to the insurer CPP for fraud insurance after taking out a store card.

Gemma Hemingway said she felt "ripped off" because she assumed she needed to do it.

She was speaking as it emerged that millions of people could be in line for compensation after being mis-sold identity theft products by CPP.

Thirteen banks and credit card firms have agreed to provide up to £1.3bn towards a new compensation scheme.

David Black from Consumer Intelligence told the BBC Radio 5 live's Chris Warburton that some elements of the cover were worthwhile, but others were "meaningless".
