GLICO Life Insurance Company (GLICO Life), has re-launched its micro-insurance products – Edwa Nkosuo and Anidaso in selected markets in Accra.
The re-launch was done in line with GLICO Life’s objective of strengthening relationships with existing customers and bringing insurance to the doorstep of every Ghanaian by introducing innovative and affordable products.
The Micro Insurance Manager, Ms Cynthia Ewusi, told the Daily Graphic that the re-launch was a huge success and as a result, the company had managed to sign on many policyholders onto GLICO Life’s micro insurance policies.
Anidaso and Edwa Nkosuo, which in the Ghanaian local Akan language means "hope" and "business progression" respectively, are pure term insurance policies designed to provide insurance protection for low income earners such as clerical and factory workers, petty traders, artisans and peasant farmers.
The products can be taken out as a standalone policy or together with a savings benefit. Anidaso and Edwa Nkosuo can also be extended to cover the principal life insured’s immediate dependants, thus spouse and children below 18 years or above only if the child is in full-time education.
Besides, prospective customers have the option to extend the policy to include other benefits such as Hospitalisation Income and Accident Disability.
GLICO Life is the first insurance company, in 2003, to start micro insurance business in Ghana and is currently operating in all the 10 regions of Ghana, spreading the benefits to the people and cushioning them with prompt claim payments.
After 25 years of successful operations in Ghana, GLICO Life has been instrumental in the development of flagship insurance products, providing value-added solutions to meet stakeholders’ satisfaction.
GLICO Life has attained a leadership position in the insurance industry and is still forging ahead in the Ghanaian insurance industry.
