Insurance company makes generous donation

A local insurance company made a generous donation to Bakersfield ARC. Fallgatter Rhodes Insurance partnered with KGET-TV 17 through the Olympics.

For every medal the U.S. won, the insurance company was going to donate $100. The U.S. won 28 medals, but Falgatter Rhodes chose to round up the donation making it an even $3,000. "It really was an opportunity for us at Fallgatter Rhodes to give back to the community. We've never had an option like this we were very proud to be able to do this," said Greg Hash, Fallgatter Rhodes Insurance.

"You know there's been a lot of budget cuts over the years and if it were not for donations like this we absolutely would not be able to keep our doors open. We rely on great donations like this one to keep our doors open," says Linda Hartman, executive director BARC Foundation.

Bakersfield ARC is a non-profit organization that has been providing essential job training, employment and support services for the intellectually and developmentally disabled and their families since 1949.
