House GOP moves to repeal Quinn's new insurance tax

House Republicans have introduced legislation to repeal an obscure new insurance premium tax that they voted for unanimously, but apparently unwittingly, earlier this year.on implementing the new tax, which applies to hundreds, perhaps thousands of Illinois-based firms, according to captive insurance experts.

“I have not heard from the Department of Insurance or the governor's office,” said Mr. Durkin, who introduced the repeal bill on September 22.
