You are not alone.

Whether it is your first presentation, or number 100, almost everyone suffers from some level of stage fright.

It is a perfectly normal feeling, and a form of energy that can be channelled to your benefit.

Nerves can be used to your own advantage, but first you must identify them.

 

Remember nobody ever died from stage fright

The good news!

You will get over it.

 

Managing Stage fright

What are your  fears ?

·         Low self esteem

·          inadequate knowledge of the subject

·         poor preparations?

·            Time considerations,

 

Controlling stage fright(Pre-presentation)

 

Be extremely well prepared.

Get individual or group presentation brush-up.

Listen to music.

Anticipate hard and easy questions.

Practice, practice, practice.

 

Controlling stage fright(when the programme begins)

If legs are trembling, lean on lectern /table or shift legs or move

Try not to hold the microphone by hand in the first minute

Don't hold notes. The audience can see them shake, Use three-by-five cards instead

Take quick drinks of water

Use eye contact. It will make you feel less isolated

Look at the friendliest faces in the audience
