Joint efforts from all countries are needed to reshape the world and promote the development of international relations based on win-win cooperation, a top official with a Chinese private insurance company has said.
"To reshape the world, the international community should build a new international order and regulatory system to fight beggar-thy-neighbour tactics," Li Guangrong, the chairman of Sinosafe General Insurance Co. Ltd., told Xinhua in a recent interview conducted ahead of the World Economic Forum slated for Jan. 22-25 in Davos, Switzerland.
Li said China was a key driving force behind all the current global changes.
But China's impact on the world should not be over exaggerated, he added.
China itself has been in the process of reshaping for a long time, Li said, adding it has taken more than 35 years to push forward reforms on its political, cultural, social and ecological systems.
In the meantime, he said, China can not develop itself in isolation from the world, and the world also needs China for peace and prosperity.
Having participated in the summer Davos meetings held in China in the past seven years, Li said he values his first trip to the annual meeting in Switzerland and looks forward to sharing his ideas with other participants.
"The Davos forum is a platform for equal exchanges for all the political and business elites and scholars around the world. For the past few years, I have witnessed its growing influence on the development of the world as well as on the people," Li said.
