NIA presents vehicle insurance verification devices to Lagos State

Efforts at getting more Nigerian into the insurance net  and boosting the culture of insurance among citizens of Lagos State received a major boost on Tuesday with the handing over of verification devices to officials of Lagos state government

At a brief but eventful ceremony, the permanent secretary, ministry of transportation,  Mr. Sewedo Oluseyi Whenu promised that officials of the state vehicle inspection services would put the devices to effective use.

Earlier in his speech, the NIA chairman, Mr. GUS Wiggle noted that it was regrettable that many motorists have failed to appreciate the need to obtain genuine insurance documents from registered insurance companies and have kept the culture of patronising fake insurance documents in spite of the dangers attached.
He disclosed that the devices were configured to assist the vehicle inspection officers in the effective  discharge of their duties, adding that with the right attitude, Nigerian will further appreciate the value of having genuine insurance documents instead of patronising touts.
The device is already in use in ogun state and Abuse and more states are expected to deploy the device before the end of the year.
