NICON hosts brokers’ members evening

NICON Insurance Plc will be the host of the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB) August edition of Members’ Evening, holding at the Council’s Secretariat 58, Moleye Street, Alagomeji, Yaba, Lagos. Time is 3.00pm.

A statement by the Assistant Manager Corporate Affairs NCRIB, Dele Ayeleso, said the hosting of Insurance Brokers under the aegis of the NCRIB by NICON Insurance Plc would be quite symbolic, given the fact that it would be the first time the underwriter would be playing such role in the last decade.

 He noted that the event would be a win-win event for NICON and Insurance Brokers as it would facilitate harmonious relationship between the parties, stressing that insurance brokers constitute a crucial chain in the insurance industry in Nigeria given the enormous clientele controlled by them.

Ayeleso said the NICON team, would be led to the event by its Managing Director, Samuel Bayode, a consummate insurance practitioner who is expected to intimate Brokers with the new policy direction of the company, among other issues.

The President of the NCRIB Ayodapo Shoderu, hinted that the new Commissioner for Insurance, Mohammed Kari would also be in attendant to address all the Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) during the meeting. 

The Nigerian Insurance market is often referred to as Brokers market, given the fact that the professional intermediaries control more than 70 per cent of insurance business in the market.
