Engaging in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) may
be the panacea to the image challenge and low patronage of insurance products, Inspen has learnt.
The former President Chartered Insurance Institute
of Nigeria (CIIN) Adeyemo Adejumo, who drums the need for
operators to embrace CSR, in a forum in Lagos, called on his colleagues to do
more in giving back to the society where they operate.
He noted that the public would embrace insurance when their
lives are impacted by the contributions made by insurers.
Investigation shows that firms like Sovereign Trust
Insurance Plc, Leadway Assurance Limited, Royal Exchange Assurance and few
others are organisations championing CSR in the industry.
