NAICOM wouldn't penalise operators unjustly - Daniel

The National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) is highly committed to the growth and development of in the insurance industry and would not penalise operators unjustly, the Commissioner for Insurance Fola Daniel, has said.

Daniel who spoke at a seminar organised for Insurance Correspondents in Ilorin, urged insurance practitioners to play according to the rules, adding that the commission would not folds its hands and allow things go astray in the industry.

He noted that NAICOM’s decision to ensure that things are done appropriately stems from the belief that the industry should not be left behind in the scheme of things in the economy. He maintained that the cleansing of the industry is good for the operators, stakeholders and the nation.

Daniel noted that the commission would continue to do its best to position the industry where it should belong, adding that efforts would be placed in the promotion of microinsurance and takaful in the coming year.
