The Federal Government has appointed an erstwhile General Manager (Technical), Consolidated Hallmark Insurance Plc, Mr. Bode Opadokun, as the new managing director of the Nigerian Agricultural Insurance Corporation.
According to a statement on Sunday, Opadokun is a fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria.
He has a master’s degree in Business Administration from the Delta State University and he is also a graduate of insurance from the Lagos State Polytechnic.
With about 25 years of experience in insurance practice, he had worked at Cornerstone Insurance Plc, Consolidated Risk Insurers Limited and was also a pioneer executive management staff member of First Chartered Insurance Company Limited.
A versatile practitioner and prudent underwriter, Opadokun is a strategic marketer.
The new NAIC helmsman is a globally recognised member of the energy and special risk underwriters and has also attended several local and international insurance summits and conferences.
According to the statement, while assuming office at the NAIC corporate office in Abuja, Opadokun promised to give staff training a high premium, saying a well-equipped personnel was key to efficiency and optimal service delivery.
He gave an assurance that with his private sector pedigree, he would bring to bear the spirit of robust competition on making NAIC a key and frontline player in the insurance industry.
He noted that NAIC had a competitive advantage of being the only agric insurance firm in the country and had the potential to achieve a global benchmark set by countries like China, India and America in the area of agricultural risk management and service delivery.
