Members of the Insurance Industry
Consultative Committee (IICC) are working out ways to visit the national
assembly and other notable institutions in the country to abreast them of the
developments in the sector, Inspen has learnt.
A member of the committee told Inspen
that the committee since inauguration last year, had meet three times to
deliberate issues in the industry, adding that one of the major programmes of
the committee is to visit notable institutions in the country to abreast them of
its existence, developments in the industry and also solicit supports to move
the sector forward.
He noted that the committee will be
having its next meeting in May, stressing that the members drawn from the industry’s
arms have been cooperating effectively. He said the committee is on running and that
the dates for the visits will be determined at the meeting coming up next month.
The committee was formed
to give a voice to the industry; guarantees a collective medium for dialogue;
provides a clearing house for vital industry policies; engenders a firm
anchorage for growth agendas; constitutes a powerful group for government
relations and platform for resolution of conflicts.
