The Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) will tomorrow Thursday 10, hold this year’s Ramadan Tafsir, which is designed to capture the Ramadan mood for Islamic faithful in the Insurance Industry.

A statement by the Director/Head Corporate Affairs of the institute, Joseph Obah, said the event will hold at the Lagos Secretariat Central Mosque, Alausa, Lagos, by 3.30pm.

According to him, the CIIN’s Activities Committee Chairman, Shakiru Oyefeso, said the Tafsir given its resourcefulness will be part of the Institutes tradition in years to come.

He also stated that members of the Institute, even the non-Muslims will have a lot to gain from the Tafsir lectures to be delivered by notable Islamic clerics, such as Sheikh Abdul-Rahman Ahmad, National Missioner, Ansar-ud-Deen Society of Nigeria and Dr. ‘Lateef Mobolaji Adetona of the Department of Religious and Peace Studies, Lagos State University, Ojo, Lagos.

The lecture topic, Towards Rebuilding a Serene Society – An Ideal Muslim Home to the Rescue” according to Oyefeso is quite apt. He also opined that the choice could not be better, stating that it is time, more than ever, to reiterate the importance of tolerance and co–existence to the growth of both the family and a Nation.

CIIN’s Director – General, Kola Ahmed, expressed optimism that this year’s Tafsir will record a bigger success than the Maiden edition. Ahmed commended Muslims who attend the Christmas Carol services, urged CIIN members of other faiths to attend the Tafsir to share opinions with their counterparts on the critical topic.

Ahmed also said that dignitaries who have been invited to the Tafsir will be hosted by the CIIN’s president Bola Temowo.
