AIICO insurance leads as insurers paid N81bn claims in 2014

AIICO Insurance Plc led the chart with N10.84 billion, as 49 insurance companies paid an aggregate of N81 billion claims in 2014.

The 2014 claims settlement figure obtained from the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM), showed that AIICO Insurance paid N10.84 billion, followed by Leadway Assurance Limited, N6.86billion; Custodian and Allied insurance Plc, N5.7 billion and Mansard Insurance Plc, N4.70 billion.

Others are: NEM Insurance Plc, N2.96 billion; Sovereign Trust Insurance Plc, N2.90 billion; Zenith Insurance Limited, N2.82 billion; Cornerstone Insurance Plc, N2.80 billion; Niger Insurance Plc, N2.72billion; Royal Exchange Insurance Plc, N1.97 billion and Africa Alliance Insurance Plc, N1.96 billion.

Commissioner for Insurance Fola Daniel, has always canvassed that claims settlement remains the best publicity insurance companies can made to get the public believe in the mechanism of insurance.
