Several life insurance agents participated in a hunger strike across Coimbatore division as part of the five-day strike from Monday.
According to C. Saravanamoorthi, president of Life Insurance Agents’ Federation of India – Coimbatore Division, about 100 agents in each branch participated in the hunger strike on Monday. In Coimbatore, agents from six branches observed fast at the regional office.
The protest will be on till March 20.
The Life Insurance Agents Federation of India has been organising protests from January 16 pressing its demands.
It has also submitted its demands to the chairman of LIC, according to a press release.
