NEIHIS takes-off in grand style

Efforts to have a well-struc­tured health management system for the Nigerian entertainment industry have finally yielded fruits as Nigerian Enter­tainment Industry Health Insur­ance Scheme (NEIHIS) was of­ficially unveiled at Sheraton Hotels, Ikeja, Lagos on Tuesday, March 3.
Flagging off the business of the day, co-ordinator of the scheme, Mr. Seun Apara said easy and affordable healthcare is now available to enter­tainers throughout the 36 states of Nigeria and the Federal Capital Terri­tory. “We are happy that after a year of trying to institutionalize proper and organized health care delivery system, we have moved several mile stones beyond where we started,” he added.
Commenting, MD/CEO of Health­care International, Dr. Tosin Awosika, said: “With all the hard labour and selfless sacrifices that have been put into bringing this scheme to existence, I expect everybody in this industry to enrol and enjoy the im­mense benefits thereof.”
Entertainment stakeholders includ­ing Tony Okoroji, Patrick Doyle, Efe Omorogbe, Gbenga Adeyinka, and Yemi Solade also took turns to encour­age guests to pay attention to their health by enrolling under the private customized scheme as it covers them in all the 36 states of the country.
In his remarks, Now Muzik boss, Efe Omorogbe, made it known that he had already enrolled for the scheme and did the same for his staff before the launch because he under­stands the importance and implica­tions of the scheme.
Guests included DJ Jimmy Jatt, Cally Ikpe, Raw Nwanne, Ara, Puffy T and DJ Gosporella among a host of others. Comedian Koffi hosted the event that was also attended by top executives of partner HMOs including Healthcare International and United Healthcare International. NEIHIS is an initiative of Nigerian Entertainment Industry Lecture Series (NEILS) in partnership with National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).
