HARTFORD, Connecticut's health insurance exchange is reminding people to sign up by Monday if they want to have coverage beginning with the new year.
Access Health CT's acting chief executive, Jim Wadleigh, says it has been working hard to get word out that people have to enroll by Dec. 15 if they want coverage to begin on Jan. 1.
People who enroll after Monday will not be covered until March.
Consumers who do not have health insurance have until Feb. 15 to enroll and avoid a tax penalty.
Data released by Access Health CT in August showed there remained about 147,000 in the state, out of a population of nearly 3.6 million, who were uninsured. Access Health has been focusing on signing up more of those residents.
