Church Mutual Insurance Corp. said Thursday that Rich Poirier has been promoted to president of the company.
Poirier, who is chief operating officer, assumes the president title from Mike Ravn, who has been president and chief executive since 2010. Ravn will continue as chief executive of Church Mutual. The promotion is effective June 1.
"Rich has a complete insurance industry background," Ravn said in a statement. "In his new role, he will continue to oversee claims, risk control, corporate planning, corporate services, actuarial and product services, human resources and information technology."
Poirier joined Church Mutual in 2011 as vice president for claims, and later that year was named COO.
Before joining the company, he was senior vice president and general manager of claims for the Liberty Mutual Agency Markets Corp. Poirier earned a bachelor's degree and law degree from Marquette University.
