The Managing Director Consolidated
Hallmark Insurance Plc, Eddie Efekoha, has emerged as the Deputy Chairman of
the Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA).
He defeated the Managing Director
Staco Insurance Plc, Sakiru Oyeseso, in a keenly contested election conducted
today at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the association.
Efekoha pulled 31 votes out of 44
casted, while Oyefeso got 13 votes.
Efekoha promised to work with other
council members of the association to move the insurance industry forward. He
noted that he would contribute immensely to the building of reliable database
for the industry and ensures that the industry’s contributions to the nation’s Gross
Domestic Product (GDP) improve significantly.
