"Human error" leaves Retired Chicago Public School teachers unpaid

Retired Chicago Public Schools teachers did not receive their monthly pension checks Friday morning due to an "unfortunate human error," ABC Chicago reports.

The checks were supposed to be automatically deposited via direct deposit at midnight on Friday, August 1.

According to a statement on the Chicago Teacher’s Pension Fund website, the issue has not yet been resolved.

"The Chicago Teachers' Pension Fund is currently experiencing a computer issue regarding this month's pension check. We are working on the issue, and there will be something posted on the webpage and in our voicemail later today. We are sorry for the inconvenience and are working as quickly as possible to resolve the issue."
