The Medicare Insurance Corporation has presented a cheque of US$1,000 to the National Task Force in the fight against Ebola in Liberia.
Presenting the cheque on behalf of his Corporation, the Managing Director, Michael Bull, said the initial donation is to assist those who are affected by the epidemic be provided food and care and hope that with the care provided there will be some level of improvements.
Mr. Bull said the Corporation's donation is to cherish the work done so far as there are more survivors of the disease that had plagued the nation as the stories are beginning to change due to sensitization and it is their prayer that in the next few months all of Liberia's stories will be of successes on how Ebola was kicked out.
Receiving the cheque, a proxy of the Task Force said it is welcoming news that a Liberian business can step forward to assist the Task Force and promised to deposit it into the special account at the Central Bank.
He said the Ministry of Finance is also expected to give up-dates making public the names of those who made donations to the effort so that at the end of the day, those who provided assistance to this fight can be comfortable that their donations were appreciated and would be spent for the purpose intended with accountability.
